hat wieder einen vertrag in muskegon unterschrieben:

The Fury opened the inaugural International Hockey League summer player signing period Monday by announcing the return of goal-scoring maestro and fan favorite Robin Bouchard.

Bouchard, the now-defunct United Hockey League`s all-time goal scoring leader, signed a one-year contract as a player/assistant coach for Coach Bruce Ramsay`s squad. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"We are very, very excited to have Robin back with us," said Ramsay, in a team press release. "He means so much to this franchise, both on and off the ice. His popularity here is undeniable and he is a true asset to our entire organization."

Bouchard, 33, played in Italy last year, but came back at the conclusion of the season and served as an assistant coach in time for the Fury`s playoff run. He has played 10 seasons in Muskegon since coming over from the Flint Generals during the 1996-97 campaign.

"I`m really happy to be back and to be a part of such an outstanding organization in the new IHL," said Bouchard, a year-round Muskegon resident. "The IHL is doing it right. This is the model, the best direction for minor pro hockey and was one of the most important factors in my decision to come back to the Fury."

Bouchard has notched 565 goals and totaled 1,142 points over his 14-year career. He holds UHL records in goals (490), power-play goals (202), and game-winning goals (7). He also is the Fury`s all-time leader in goals (428), points (848), game-winning goals (65) and power-play goals (181).

Bringing Bouchard -- a 10-time recipient of the Fury Most Popular Player Award -- back was a major goal this offseason of both Ramsay and Fury owner Tony Lisman.

"Today`s signing of Robin Bouchard represents a major step in assembling our team for the new season," added Ramsey. "With Robin back in our lineup, it`s another good reason why all of the Fury fans and this great hockey community will really enjoy watching our team this season."

Bouchard led Muskegon to its last title in the 2004-05 season and embraces the challenge of trying for another title in a new league.

"I`m looking forward to the new season in a new league," said Bouchard. "It`s like a new life in the new IHL.

"Last season ended too early for us, but with (Coach Ramsey) doing his usual great job of player recruitment, we`re going to have another strong season of Fury hockey."
