Fassa: un altro canadese canadese per l`attacco

Continua sensa sosta la campagna acquisti per la nuova stagione da parte della società fassana.
Dopo l`annuncio di ieri del canadese Greg Barber oggi arriva l`annuncio di un altro attaccante canadese.
Si tratta del 24enne Greg Watson proveniente dalla ECHL.
Nella scorsa stagione infatti Watson ha disputato 43 incontri con i Pensacola Ice Pilots (9G, 22A, 77PIM) ed ha chiuso la stagione con la maglia dei Augusta Lynx (18GP, 4G, 3A, 18PIM).

Ich denke Fassa macht Naegel mit Koepfen.....wie immer...
kein grosses Aufhebens aber dafuer konkret!!!

Gut im Gegensatz zu Barber, der letzte Saison beachtliche Scorerpunkte verbuchen konnte ist dieser Spieler nicht berauschend.... 38 Punkte in 61 Spielen - das ist eher eine Statistik für einen Verteidiger...

Da hatten die A2 Mannschaften in den letzten Jahren durchwegs bessere Spieler (zumindest von den Punkten her) aus der ECHL im Kader.

Immerhin er war 2.-Runden Draft bei den Florida Panthers im Jahr 2001 und spielte von 2003 - 2006 AHL

Talent Analysis

Watson is a very strong and gritty center/left winger who is a complete checking force along the walls and loves to punish opposing players. Solid skating abilities with a good stride and straight ahead speed, Watson excels in the faceoff circle. Great passion and loves to do the dirty work needed to win, competes hard every shift and every game. He also has a good hockey sense and makes the most out of his opportunities, and possesses an accurate, quick wrist shot.
Watson is a big body player with good skating ability and some potential.

Future

Watson has the making of a character player that goes out and shows that desire and drive can go a long way in overcoming a deficiency of talent. Watson is the player that coaches love and fans come to appreciate for their yeomans work in competing hard, and this fortitude combined with his talent can lead him to be an above-average fourth line player.
