--------------- Blueliner Quintal retires after 16 seasons 8/22/2005 11:42:55 AM The new-look Los Angeles Kings will not include defenceman Stephane Quintal, as the 16-year NHL veteran has announced his retirement from hockey. Acquired from Montreal in 2004, Quintal collected three goals and five assists in 73 games with the Canadiens in the 2003-2004 campaign. He appeared in four playoff contests before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury. Quintal said in a statement that he wished to spend more time with his family and lived out his childhood dream playing for the Canadiens. A native of Boucherville, Quebec, the 36-year-old Quintal was selected 14th overall by Boston in 1987. He has 63 goals and 180 assists in 1,037 career games with the Bruins, St. Louis, Winnipeg, Montreal, the New York Rangers and Chicago. ------------------ Grüße, Lexl |
